Description: The Bible Advocate is one of the oldest religious magazines in America, founded in 1863.
Needs: The Bible Advocate is geared to help Christians understand and obey God's Word, with articles on Bible doctrine, current social and religious issues, Christian living, Bible topics, textual or biblical book studies, prophecy, and personal experience. We also print fillers (sidebars), opinion pieces, and poetry (traditional, free, and blank verse).
Payment: We pay an honorarium, on publication, of $25 per printed magazine page, up to $55, for print and electronic rights. Online articles run $25-$55, depending on published length. For poetry, we pay $20. However, for opinion pieces, we only pay in copies of the magazine.
Rights: We buy first, electronic, and one-time rights. We also accept reprints and simultaneous submissions.

Description: This is a 60 year old national magazine published by Bayard Publishing.
Guidelines: Send in text of e-mail. No attachments. Send CD's in Word, QuarkXpress or Rich Text Format (RTF). Send typed copy with address, phone, e-mail, SASE. Most articles are reprints. Will consider original submissions. Don't query. Include contact info: name, address, number at top of each submission. If submitting an article for reprint consideration, include name, address, editor of original published source, copyright line from original source, page number, date of the original publication.
Submission Needs: Features and advice on health psychology, humor, adventure, family, ethics, spirituality, Catholic heritage, profiles of successful Catholics from saints to modern day heroes.
Fillers: 1. Open Door-true stories about people brought into Church or returned to their faith.
2. People Are Like That-true stories that shows goodness of humans.
3. Perfect Assist-good works of volunteers/organizations. Include info to contact the organization.

Submission Needs: The Home Forum is looking for upbeat, personal essays of from 400 to 1,100 words. We also publish poetry (25 lines is a long poem, for us). Every Tuesday we publish Kidspace, feature stories (main story and at least one sidebar) aimed at children ages 6 to 12.
Payment: Personal essays: $75 to $150, depending on the way it's used, length, and the editor's subjective assessment. Poetry: $20 (haiku) to $40. Kidspace articles: $150 for main story of 750 to 900 words, $50 to $75 per sidebar. We like to have at least one sidebar per Kidspace, ideally two.

Description: The Upper Room is for an international, interdenominational audience to encourage Christians in personal prayer and discipleship. The reader can connect real events with activity of God with direct, honest statements of personal faith and how that faith grows. This magazine will help the Christian to explore, search, consider, ask and examine their faith.
Guidelines: Indicate the version of Bible used. Use clear, simple words, develop one idea.
