Associated Writing Programs Awards -
Description: original, unpublished, book-length work in each of three categories: novels, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Open to U.S. residents only.
Payment: Reading fee: $20.
Prizes: Annual awards of $2,000 (plus publication)

Book of Dark Wisdom's Fiction Contest -
Description: Pick up the latest issue of Dark Wisdom (issue #4) and write a 2000 word or less fiction story pertaining to the image that appears on page 9, and send it to us. You could see your story in an upcoming issue of Book of Dark Wisdom!

Robyn Herrington Memorial Short Fiction Competition -
Description: All stories must be science fiction, fantasy or horror.
Include a stamped ($2.40 in Canada), self-addressed 9" x 12" envelope (U.S. & International entrants should include a cheque or money order payable to IFWA for $5 Cdn. in lieu of International Postal Reply coupons). All entrants will receive critiques of their stories, a list of prize-winners and a copy of In Places Between. # Entry Fees:

The Strokestown International Poetry Competition –
Description: Category 1: A poem in English of not more than 70 lines. First Prize for a Poem for English: £2,500,(4,000 Euros) 2nd prize: 2,000 Euros, 3rd prize: 1,000 Euros.
Category 2: A poem Irish, Scottish Gaelic or Manx: First prize: £2,500 (4,000 Sterling), 2nd prize: 2, 000 Euros, 3rd prize: 1,000 Euros.
Category 3: Humorous political or topical satire or invective in verse.

Utmost Christian Poetry Contest -
Description: Poems may be rhymed or free verse, up to sixty (60) lines, but must not have won any prize in any previous competition of any kind. Send up to seven (7) poems with your entry fees. Fill out an entry form (photocopies of the form are acceptable) and include it in the same envelope as your entries.
